Donate gently used gowns for local international high school students’ first prom

From Dr. Ellen Kennedy
Professor and Director of Service Learning

All dressed up with no place to go?

If last year’s party dress is just hanging around, dig it out of the closet and send it on another date! The courageous students at Lincoln International High School need gently used party dresses for an experience they’ll never forget – their first prom.

The students at Lincoln International High School, our partner in the Changing Faces program, come from all over the world. They work hard to catch up with the American school system without even the basics of English and come to school some days without a pair of socks. They hold down jobs in order to support their families.

Through your generosity, the girls will wear their “new” prom dresses and have the all-American experience of a prom on May 12. Bring gently used dresses on Tuesday, April 18, to my office, Room 123, O’Shaughnessy Educational Center.
