Students for Justice and Peace will present the Water for Peace "Empty Bowl" event from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. today, Thursday, May 6.
Free soup will be served with the purchase of a $5 to $10 handmade ceramic bowl. All proceeds will go to providing clean water to school children in Minneapolis’ sister city of Najaf, Iraq. Currently only 20 percent of Iraqi students have access to clean water, according to Brent Lehman, Students for Justice and Peace coordinator.
The "Empty Bowl” is being conducted in cooperation with the Iraqi American Reconciliation Project. For more information contact Lehman, (574) 361-2005, or via campus mail, Mail No. 2285
