Engineering Department Revs up Collegiate Formula SAE Competition

For the first time, the University of St. Thomas will compete in the collegiate Formula SAE competition. The goal: Build and race a scale Formula 1 style vehicle.

When this project is completed, the university's team will be able to take a Formula SAE car from zero to 6o mph in 3.5 seconds; however, to complete the project the team needs people interested in elements from engines to marketing – and someone with lightning-fast reflexes to race it!

If interested, view the pictures on the Formula SAE website, or stop by the Engineering Department. The department is located on the first floor of O'Shaughnessy Science Hall.

Interested students are invited to attend an informational meeting at noon Thursday, Feb. 3,  in the 3M Auditorium, Room 150, Owens Science Hall. For more information e-mail Michael Cowdrey.
