Faculty nominations sought for $1,000 Undergraduate Research Award

Nominations are sought for the ninth annual Undergraduate Research Award, which recognizes a faculty member whose work involving students in research and professional scholarship has been outstanding.

The recipient will receive a plaque and $1,000, presented at the university faculty meeting in May. The purpose of this award is to recognize faculty efforts in this important area of undergraduate scholarship.

Any faculty member may nominate a colleague for this award by submitting their name, a brief rationale for their candidacy, and the names of at least two additional colleagues who can comment on the nominee's work in research collaborations.

The Undergraduate Research and Collaborative Scholarship board will solicit additional information about involvement in student research and collaborative scholarship from nominees who wish to be considered, and from those familiar with their work. Self-nominations also are welcome and should include the names of three informed colleagues.

Send nominations by e-mail to Dr. David Steele by Friday, April 18.
