Faculty, staff sought for Service-Learning Advisory Board

The University of St. Thomas Advisory Board for Service-Learning is seeking new members for three-year terms beginning in September 2009.

Constituted of faculty and staff from both the St. Paul and Minneapolis campuses, the board meets as a full body twice during the school year (once a semester; board members also meet as smaller workgroups) and is responsible for helping to cultivate knowledge about and involvement in various kinds of community-based learning and research.

Board members bring a variety of perspectives and strengths from their disciplinary training, community experiences and different positions in the university to work toward the long-term integration and deepening of community-based learning and public scholarship on campus.

To apply, e-mail a brief letter indicating relevant experience, interest and commitment to service-learning to the Service-Learning Office by Tuesday, March 31.
