With classes set to begin tomorrow, Residence Life staff spent much of the last several weeks preparing for the onslaught of new and returning faces to campus residence halls.
Over the weekend, more than 400 volunteers hoisted the sometimes-heavy belongings of 1,100 first-year students and 500 returning students into residence halls. Father Dease's Move-In Crew, which consists mostly of current St. Thomas students, provided welcoming smiles and muscle power as they helped on-campus residents into their new homes for the upcoming year.
Students began arriving as early as 6:30 a.m. on Saturday. Once their vehicles were unloaded, they were sent to the Anderson Parking Facility but not before cruising across the upper quad.
