Dr. Young-ok An, English Department, and incoming director of the Luann Dummer Center for Women starting July 1, will give a presentation at the next Feminist Friday on April 13.

Her talk on “Literary Friendship Between Felicia Hemans and Letitia Landon” will be held from noon to 1 p.m. in the women’s center, Room 103, O’Shaughnessy Educational Center.
Examining Hemans' and Landon’s representations of and yearning for friends, An will discuss how they, as women writers, expanded the fraternity-based model that marginalized women’s friendships. In tracing their sustained engagement with each other in their work, she will suggest how Hemans and Landon formed a lasting literary friendship, despite lacking direct contact.
This event is free and open to everyone. Bring a lunch; dessert and beverages will be provided.
