Students invited to discuss 'Biracial and Adoptive Identity Development' Nov. 17

A Linkages dialogue will focus on biracial identity and identity formation in the context of adoption from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, in Koch Fireside Room.

The discussion will include, but is not limited to, the ways in which living between two cultures or not knowing the culture into which one was born impacts one's identity development, and addressing the pressure that some individuals feel from society to ‘‘choose sides’’ with respect to racial identity. Students will have the opportunity to reflect on the role of biracial/adoptive identity in the context of the UST community. This is an opportunity to broaden your understanding of world views and experiences of your peers in a safe and inclusive environment.

Linkages is sponsored by Multicultural Student Services and the Black Empowerment Student Alliance (BESA).
