Jammey Tyus, a Physical Plant building service worker, and his family of seven are regrouping after fire tore through their home early Monday, Feb. 20.
When firefighters arrived they found the home fully engulfed in flames leaping from the back of the structure. The two adults and five children inside at the time of the fire were able to safely escape. The blaze was put down but rekindled about 6 a.m., summoning firefighters for a second battle.
The home and two vehicles were a total loss. The Physical Plant is accepting monetary donations and gift cards for the family as they try to cope with this devastating situation.
