In Our Prayers: Thomas Dolphin

The University of St. Thomas mourns the loss of alumnus Thomas Dolphin, a former chair of the School of Law’s Board of Governors. He passed away on Sept. 19.

After graduating with a bachelor's degree from St. Thomas in 1973, Dolphin spent 50 years in banking, transforming a small rural bank into 21st Century Bank, where he became chairman and CEO.

Tom is survived by his wife, Ellen Beecher, his sons Thomas Jr. and Johnathan, Ellen's son, Bret Beecher, as well as his grandsons, two nieces, and step-grandchildren.

A celebration of life was held at the Chapel of St. Thomas Aquinas on the morning of Oct. 5. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Thomas P. Dolphin Law Scholarship at the University of St. Thomas Law School.
