Internet outage fixed

From Information Resources and Technologies

The University of St. Thomas experienced an Internet outage from about 11 p.m. Saturday and until about noon Sunday.

What happened?

At approximately 11 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, UST lost connectivity to the Internet.  Faculty, staff, and students on campus were able to access central services (central storage, Blackboard, etc.) and send and receive e-mail to and from others on campus. Anyone off campus could not access e-mail or central services. Telephone and voicemail were not interrupted.

What did IRT do about it?

IRT immediately contacted its Internet Service Provider to report the outage and worked with it to receive status updates and test throughout the night. The vendor replaced a piece of hardware at its site and UST regained connectivity at 12:05 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8.

IRT apologizes for this inconvenience.  For more information about the outage, contact the Tech Desk, (651) 962-6230.
