Library Today: Eric Kallas Named Science Liaison Librarian; Keffer Library Conducts Book Sale

Eric Kallas has taken on the post of science and engineering librarian. The science librarian position previously had been the responsibility of Earl Belisle, who retired in June 2010.

Kallas has been a librarian at the University of St. Thomas since 1985 – the year he received his Master of Library Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has ceded his responsibilities with the Opus College of Business in order to partner with the science departments. Kallas has been the liaison to UST engineering programs since the start of the Manufacturing Engineering program in 1987.

He earned his Master of Business Communication in 1995 at St. Thomas, and he also has completed a Mini-Masters certificate in manufacturing systems engineering.

UST Libraries wish to thank all of the faculty and staff members of the science and engineering departments who worked with us through this past transition year and provided us with the information and feedback necessary to bring this process to a successful conclusion.
