Luann Dummer Center Seeks Advisory Board Applicants by Oct. 4

The Luann Dummer Center for Women is seeking applications for a full-time staff seat on its advisory board.

The advisory board, composed of faculty, staff and students, is a decision-making body for the LDCW on matters concerning the center's budget, membership and grant-distribution.

The board meets five times during the academic year (more if necessary) and is in frequent communication with the center's director to assist in various ways, including policy development. The advisory board also serves as the search committee for subsequent directors of the center. The term is approximately six years, although students serve only until their status changes.

To fill the vacancy created by the departure of Dr. Tori Svoboda, applications are sought from full-time staff members of the university interested in serving on the advisory board. Those interested are invited to send a statement of interest to the LDCW director, Dr. Young-ok An. Be sure to include information on academic or professional experience with issues related to women and gender. Visit the LDCW website for its mission and programs.

Expressions of interest are due no later than Friday, Oct. 4.
