Managing Director of Brass Ring Capital to Speak Tomorrow at Investment Club Meeting

The managing director of Brass Ring Capital LLC, David Raffel, will speak about finance at the Investment Club meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 15.

He will speak from noon to 1 p.m. in Room 108, McNeely Hall. All members of the campus community are invited to attend this free event.

Raffel has 19 years of experience in private equity investments, small business consulting and commercial lending. He manages Brass Ring’s Minneapolis office and serves on the boards of Brass Ring portfolio companies American Finishing Resources, Franklin Energy Services and IGC Technologies.

Prior to forming Brass Ring, Raffel was a vice president at Agio Capital Corp., a $42 million private equity firm in Minneapolis. As one of Agio’s original two investment professionals, he played an instrumental role in nine of the firm’s 15 transactions over a six-year period.

He began his career in private equity at New York-based Harvest Partners. He is a graduate of the Harvard Business School and the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. Raised in Sheboygan, Wis., he now resides in suburban Minneapolis with his wife and two young children.

The topic of the presentation will center on private equity, the niche of Brass Ring Capital, and Raffel's career path. Questions at the talk are invited; free food will be provided.
