Meet July 19 for Great Books discussion

The St. Thomas Great Books Reading Group will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, in Room 388, Owens Science Hall. Refreshments will be served, and everyone's welcome.

This month's selection is The Red and the Black by 19th-century French author Marie-Henri Beyle, better known by the penname Stendhal.

Books that the group reads are available in UST's St. Paul campus Bookstore. Look for the Great Books poster near the customer service desk.

Up for discussion Aug. 30 is The Long Loneliness by Dorothy Day, founder of the Catholic Worker Movement. The September selection will be The Botany of Desire by Michael Pollan.
