Multicultural Student Services announces September events

Multicultural Student Services will host the following events this month. They're open to all students.

Friday, Sept. 16:

  • Multicultural Student Services open house – 2-4 p.m. in the MSS office, Room 106, Murray-Herrick Campus Center
    Bring your friends and stop by the MSS office for a chance to meet the staff and find out about its wide range of programs and services.
  • MSS Fun Night – 8 p.m. to midnight in the Grill, Murray-Herrick Campus Center
    This event is open to all students, so join your friends and connect with other members of the St. Thomas community in a fun and informal atmosphere.

Wednesday, Sept. 21

  • Breaking Bread Together: A follow-up to Breaking Ice Performance – 4:45-6 p.m. in the Rogge Dining Room, Murray-Herrick Campus Center
    This is an invitation to listen and share a different perspective. College is about learning and personal transformation. Take this opportunity to join in a dialogue on how you can help create a community that is open, honest, and willing to learn about and from each other. Light refreshments will be provided. R.S.V.P. to Denise Dieffenbach by 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16.

Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 24 and 25 

  • Annual fall MSS retreat in Hudson, Wis.
    All UST students are invited to share in the annual MSS retreat that will be held at the YMCA Camp St. Croix in Hudson, Wis. The retreat is free to UST students. Meals, transportation and lodging will be provided. A $60 deposit will be required to reserve your space, but will be returned to you at the retreat or if you cancel by Sept. 16. Space is limited. Stop by the MSS Office in Room 106, Murray-Herrick Campus Center, to register. Registration deadline is Friday, Sept. 16.

    All students will find this two-day retreat a great opportunity to get to know other Tommies.

    Students and staff need not worry about surviving in the rough wilderness. Retreat goers will stay in heated cabins with modern and newly renovated restrooms and private showers. Camp St. Croix will prepare all of the meals.

Tuesday, Sept. 27

  • Mentor network – noon-1 p.m. in the Fireside Room, Murray-Herrick Campus Center
    This is an opportunity to network with other UST faculty, staff and students.
