Nearly 20,000 letters sent at Up 'til Dawn's All-Team Meeting

A record-breaking 420 UST students gathered in Coughlan Field House on Wednesday, Nov. 19, at this year’s Up 'til Dawn All-Team Meeting to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

St. Thomas was voted the No. 1 program in the nation last year, and early estimates indicate that even more money will be raised this year for the children of St. Jude.

Jeff and Carol Hoff, parents of former St. Thomas student Matt Hoff, were special guests. Matt lost his battle with osteosarcoma, a bone cancer ranked high on St. Jude’s protocol, earlier this fall.

Prizes were given away throughout the evening as a thank you to participants. One lucky student, Ashley Hagen, went home with the grand prize: an iPod Touch.

For those unable to attend the All-Team Meeting, another will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, in Room 304, Murray-Herrick Campus Center. E-mail Chelsea Votel for more information.
