New women faculty, staff recognition reception is rescheduled for April 27

The UST community is invited to celebrate with the University Committee on Women Coordinating Council and the Luann Dummer Center for Women from noon to 1:30 Thursday, April 27, in the Rogge-Leyden Dining Room, second floor, Murray-Herrick Campus Center. (This event was rescheduled from March 13.) Women faculty and staff members who were hired since March 2005 will be invited to introduce themselves so that they can be welcomed by the community.

The Sister Pat Kowalski Women's Leadership Award also will be presented to staff member JoAnn Andregg, associate director of athletics. The Women's Leadership Award is dedicated in memory of Kowalski's spirit and work. She was director of community partnerships at St. Thomas for seven years until her death in 1999. She initiated and facilitated programs and contacts with the broader community. She was a member of the University Committee on Women and was interested in issues concerning women and equality. Each year the award rotates among faculty, staff and students.

A salad buffet lunch will follow the program. Everyone is welcome.
