The second annual One University Party for faculty and staff will be held Thursday, May 12, in the School of Law atrium on the Minneapolis campus.
The 3-5 p.m. party will be an opportunity to celebrate the end of another successful academic year, President Julie Sullivan said. Heavy hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be served, and there will be a brief program at 3:45 p.m.
In addition to the regular intercampus shuttle buses that will leave the St. Paul campus from the front of the Anderson Student Center, extra buses will depart from Flynn Residence Hall at 2:45 and 3 p.m. Buses will rotate regularly between the campuses until after the party.
“One University” is one of the five themes in “St. Thomas 2020: Living Our Mission, Expanding Our Horizon,” the strategic plan approved in November 2014 by the Board of Trustees.
Sullivan created the first One University Party in May 2015 to celebrate the work done by hundreds of people on the strategic plan and the task forces assigned to the plan’s eight priorities. The rationale of the “One University” theme is to “actively seek formal and informal opportunities to function as one university,” and the May 12 party will provide another “informal” opportunity for people to gather together and thank each other for a job well done.
