Notice the orange label on your network printer?
Based on feedback from the campus community, Information Resources and Technologies' Client Services has labeled all network printers with bright orange tags and a unique three-digit number as a way to simplify printer identification when reporting a problem to the IRT Tech Desk.
Previously, both IRT and the university's print vendor, Marco, required the make, model and serial number of affected printers when reporting problems or requests for service. Under the new system, IRT asks only that the three-digit identifier be given to the Tech Desk when reporting an issue with a printer. IRT will track the printer’s queue name, location, and make and model information based on the identifying number.
