Patricia Conde-Brooks has been appointed the interim associate dean of students, Student Diversity and Inclusion Services, effective Sept. 23. She replaces Tori Svoboda, who left the university in August for a faculty position at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
Having recently celebrated her eighth year at the university, Conde-Brooks has spent much of her time as a career counselor in the Career Development Center. As of 2012, she has served in both the CDC and Student Diversity and Inclusion Services. She now will work full time in Student Diversity and Inclusion Services.
Before coming to St. Thomas, Conde-Brooks worked in Career Services at Quincy University and in Minority Student Services at Tulsa Community College and Oklahoma State University.
"She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience regarding best practices in student affairs and a passion for working with students of color," said Karen Lange, dean of students. "She will provide leadership, support and vision to an already outstanding staff of professionals and students who now work in the Student Diversity and Inclusion Services Office."
