Personal Counseling adds Anxiety Support Group

The Personal Counseling and Testing office announces the addition of an Anxiety Support Group for interested students. The group will meet from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesdays in Room 370, Murray-Herrick Campus Center.

The group's goal is to help students learn to manage anxiety and stress in a healthy way with group support and the practice of  "mindfulness meditation," described as “accepting one’s current experience in a relaxed, alert, and open-hearted way” (Germer, Siegel and Fulton, 2005).

For more information, contact Steve Maurer or Laura Sherr or call the office, (651) 962-6780, to set up an intake meeting.

Other support groups include the Relationships Group, which meets 1-2 p.m. Wednesdays, and the Creating Positive Body Image Group, which meets from noon to 1 p.m. Thursdays.
