Positioning for the Future Brown-bag Sessions Are Feb. 4, 9

Brown-bag sessions to discuss strategic plan and resources issues will be held Feb. 4 and 9 on the St. Paul and Minneapolis campuses.

President Julie Sullivan will speak at the sessions, at noon Thursday, Feb. 4, in James B. Woulfe Alumni Hall in the Anderson Student Center and at noon Tuesday, Feb. 9, in 201 Opus Hall.

Last month, Sullivan distributed an email, titled "Positioning for the Future," to faculty and staff outlining steps that St. Thomas will take to assess and align resources to help meet priorities in the university's strategic plan. The steps include an external hiring pause, a voluntary departure plan for faculty and non-union staff, and the establishment of teams in each department to assess operations and whether services should be reduced or could be effectively provided with a smaller staff.
