Dr. Lily Hwa, History Department, presented a paper, "Beliefs and Actions: From Human Nature to Empire Building, a Preliminary Comparison of Confucianism and Christianity," at the 24th annual meeting of the Chinese-American Academic and Professional Association in the Southeastern United States Aug. 11-13 in Atlanta, Ga. The abstract was published in the conference proceedings.

Dr. David Kelly, Geography Department, recently presented a paper, "Identifying Regional Nitrate Leaching 'Hot Spots' and Evaluating Cropping System Effects Using GLEAMS-GIS Technology," which he co-authored with Dr. Michael Russelle of the U.S. Department of Agriculture Agricultural Research Service, at the 2000 annual meetings of the American Society of Agronomy and Soil Science Society of America.
