The Center for Ethical Business Cultures was honored for “Dimensions of Ethical Business Cultures: Comparing Data From 13 Countries of Europe, Asia and the Americas,” a research paper presented in June at the 10th International Conference on Human Resource Development Research and Practice Across Europe. The paper was one of 22 out of approximately 250 papers that were selected to be short-listed for the 2009 Alan Moon Memorial Prize. Papers are chosen for their ability to connect the knowledge and research of academia with the experience and practical challenges ofbusiness leaders. The paper’s authors are Dr. Alexandre Ardichvili, CEBC fellow and associate professor at the University of Minnesota; Dr. Douglas Jondle, director of research for the Center for Ethical Business Cultures at the University of St. Thomas Opus College of Business; and Dr. Brenda Kowske, Kenexa Research Institute.In addition, Human Resource Development Review recently published Ardichvili and Jondle’s research paper, “Ethical Business Cultures: A Literature Review and Implications for HRD.” The literature review identifies characteristics of ethical business cultures, describes current practices of developing ethical culture programs and discusses the role of HRD in developing ethical business cultures.
