The University of St. Thomas’ entrepreneurship program is ranked among the top 50 in the country, according to results of a survey of 825 programs announced in the May issue of Entrepreneur magazine.

St. Thomas is the only Minnesota college or university in the magazine’s top 50 national list. Schools in that category feature comprehensive programs and are ranked alphabetically within four tiers. St. Thomas is in the third tier, which would place it somewhere between 27th and 38th.

St. Thomas shares the third tier with Baylor University, Case Western Reserve University, University of Chicago, Duke University, Northwestern University, University of Pennsylvania (Wharton), Rice University, Southern Methodist University, Stanford University, Temple University, University of Virginia and Washington University in St. Louis.

This is the second year St. Thomas has placed in the top 5 percent of entrepreneurship programs in the country. The university was listed in the third tier of the top 50 programs both last year and this year.

The magazine bases its rankings on more than 70 criteria, which include course offerings, teaching and research faculty, business-community outreach, research centers and institutes, degrees and certificates, and faculty and alumni evaluations.
