CEBC, SAIP Institute contribute to professional literatureCEBC fellows Alexandre A. Ardichvili, Ph.D., Douglas J. Jondle, Ph.D. and James A. Mitchell are authors of “Characteristics of Ethical Business Cultures,” published in the Journal of Business Ethics. The paper summarizes a study identifying general characteristics attributed to ethical business cultures by executives from a variety of industries. The fellows’ research identified five clusters of characteristics: a mission- and values-driven business, stakeholder balance, leadership effectiveness, process integrity and long-term perspective. The authors proposed that the characteristics be used as a foundation for a comprehensive model to influence operational practices of creating and sustaining an ethical business culture.
Deane Maines, president of the SAIP Institute, is the author of two articles, “Foreign Corrupt Practices Act of 1977 (FCPA)” and “Clarkson Principles for Business,” published in the Oct. 2007 Encyclopedia of Business Ethics and Society. He also is the author ofan article, “Creating Cultures of Responsible Conduct,” in the March/April 2008 issue of MX Magazine, a bimonthly publication for medical technology business executives.
