This year marks the 10-year anniversary of the London Business Semester. The study abroad  program began with a single faculty director and 25 students. In 1998, another faculty director was  added to accommodate increased enrollment in the program. Currently more than 50 students participate in the program each fall.

The program remains highly competitive, with a variety of business majors participating. Students are required to perform 40 hours of community service (required of all St. Thomas business students) while in London, often helping out at primary and secondary schools or with senior citizens. Fridays are devoted to day trips outside of London to locations such as Stonehenge, Oxford or Bath.

Students who have participated in the London Business Semester are attending reunion events this fall, including a London Reunion Tour on Nov. 19-22. The tour will allow alumni to reminisce a bit by visiting with former British instructors and their homestay hosts, catching a West End show and reconnecting with the wonderful staff of our partner organization in London, the American Institute for Foreign Study (AIFS). For more information on the London Reunion Tour contact Ann Hubbard, (651) 962-6453.
