The first Minnesota Work-Life Champions Awards, managed by the Center for Ethical Business Cultures, were presented on Jan. 26. Gold, silver and bronze awards were presented in four categories: very large employers (1,000 or more employees), large employers (250-999 employees), medium employers (50-249 employees) and small employers (5-49 employees). In the very large employer category, General Mills received a gold, Medtronic received a silver and the Mayo Clinic received a bronze. Other gold medal winners included American Solutions for Business, Madelia Community Hospital and the Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation. In addition to the 12 awards, 25 plaques were presented to companies, recognizing their commitment to and achievements in creating a positive work-life environment in their organizations.
