The 23rd annual Multicultural Forum, presented by the Opus College of Business in partnership with the Twin Cities chapter of the National Black MBA Association, was held March 22-24 at the Minneapolis Convention Center. Keynotes included “Taking the Road Less Traveled: Religious Diversity as a Route to Integration,” presented by Joyce Dubensky, executive vice president and CEO, Tanenbaum Center for Interreligious Understanding, and a panel; “Diversity 101 is Tired, Spent and Obsolete: It’s Time to Invent the Next Generation of Diversity Work,” presented by Andrés Tapia, president, Diversity Best Practice, and a panel; and “Eyes on the Future – Cultivating the Next Generation of Leaders,” presented by Richard Davis, chairman, president and CEO, U.S. Bancorp.

The first day of the forum consisted of pre-conference professional development institutes on topics ranging from “The Power of Micro-Messages” to “Going Global: Taking Your Domestic Diversity and Inclusion Programs and Processes to the World.” The following two days included a career fair on March 23, a two-day resource expo and workshops on topics including “Managing Disability Accommodations in the Workplace,” “Communicating the Business Case for Diversity,” “How to Create a Strategic Diversity ROI Plan,” “Veterans in the Workplace: Basic Training,” “The Recruiter’s Role in Affirmative Action Compliance” and “Leveraging the Talents of Your Multilingual Workforce.”
