Offered in partnership with CliftonLarsonAllen, LLP, and Fredrikson & Byron, P.A., the UST Executive Conference on the Future of Health Care connects local health care executives with thought leaders and innovators from the industry to help them better prepare for business challenges that lie ahead.

The 2011 event featured keynote presenters Russ Richmond, M.D., CEO of Objective Health (formerly McKinsey Hospital Institute), G. Steven Burrill, CEO of the international biotech investment firm Burrill & Company, and former U.S. Rep. Earl Pomeroy. Conference topics included global health care and innovative delivery models from around the world; how value and technology are changing health care from a cost-based, sickness care system to an increasingly effective wellness care system; and predictions from Capitol Hill on the success of the Affordable Care Act and the effect of partisan politics on the improvement and implementation of national and state health policy.

Minnesota state officials also came together to discuss the state’s most pressing reform issues: the health insurance exchange, Medicaid expansion, payment reform, care coordination, quality-improvement initiatives, prevention incentives and the current state of health care funding, providing attendees with the opportunity to ask local policymakers their burning questions around the impact of health policy on their long-term business strategies.

The Opus College of Business will host the Fifth Annual UST Executive Conference on the Future of Health Care Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at the University of St. Thomas Minneapolis campus. Conference archives and details on this year’s event are available online.
