On Feb. 22, the Opus College of Business hosted the second annual Learners to Leaders (L2L), a professional networking and leadership-development initiative designed for college students and recent college graduates from underrepresented minority communities who have demonstrated leadership ability and expressed an interest in continuing their educations at a graduate level. L2L offers participants an opportunity to meet other accomplished students and young professionals affiliated with Minnesota colleges and universities, as well as professors, current graduate students and recent alumni of the Opus College of Business. St. Thomas’ goal is to strengthen the communities it serves and its educational programs by engaging high-potential students in an ongoing dialogue about the opportunities and benefits of a graduate education, including developing and enhancing leadership skills. Participation in the event is by nomination only. Educators and previous participants in the L2L program nominate underrepresented juniors, seniors and recent alumni who demonstrate solid academic achievement and leadership ability and who have expressed interest in graduate education.
