Senior Tyler Olson won second place in the Minnesota regional competition for the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards last spring. He will go on to compete at the GSEA finals Nov. 1-3 in Chicago.

The Global Student Entrepreneur Awards attract more than 500 student competitors from around the world. The competition provides recognition to undergraduate students who balance a college workload with running a business.

Olson created HelpMeTy.com, a computer support and technology business that caters to the average American household, specializing in using everyday language to explain the complicated concepts behind computers and other technical devices. Indicative of his success, he received about 15 calls and e-mails during his presentation at the GSEA competition.
