The sidewalk west of Murray-Herrick Campus Center linking upper and lower quadrangles on the St. Paul campus will be closed this week due to construction on the Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex.
Opus will move the construction fence west a short distance, widen the sidewalk and move other construction equipment. The sidewalk is expected to be ready in time for move-in on Saturday, Sept. 5.
In the meantime, pedestrians may take a detour through Murray-Herrick Campus Center when the building is open or, when it's closed, use the stairway along the building's east side or the sidewalk on Cleveland Avenue. Bicyclists, please walk your bikes on the stairway or ride along Cleveland Avenue.
The first-floor doors along Murray-Herrick's west side should be used only as an emergency exit this week.
