Relay For Life Needs Faculty, Staff Volunteers

St. Thomas students have paired with St. Catherine’s University students to host Relay For Life from 7 p.m. Saturday, April 30, to 7 a.m. Sunday, May 1.

This American Cancer Society event raises awareness about cancer and supports research efforts. In addition to walking around the track in the Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex field house, inspirational ceremonies and activities are planned.

Three faculty or staff members are required to be present throughout the night. If enough people volunteer, two shifts can be scheduled: from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. and 1 to 7 a.m.; otherwise, it will be necessary to for volunteers to stay for the entire event from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Most work at the relay will be performed by the Colleges Against Cancer Event Committee and St. Catherine’s students. The responsibility of the faculty and staff is to be present and assist in minor administrative duties – and have fun.

Faculty or staff members who are interested in helping are asked to email Hannah Peterson. Learn more about Relay For Life here.
