Relay for Life is Saturday

Relay for Life will be held this weekend – from 7 p.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Sunday, April 30-May 1. All students, faculty, staff, family, friends and community members are welcome to attend.

Students from the University of St. Thomas and St. Catherine University have worked together preparing for this 12-hour event that symbolizes a day in the life of someone fighting cancer, a disease that never sleeps.

Registration is from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the Anderson Athletic and Recreation field house. The AARC doors will close at 10 p.m.; guests are welcome to arrive until the building closes. Nonregistered students, faculty, staff, family, etc., have the option to pay $5 for a wristband that will allow them to eat food donated by local vendors. Everyone is welcome to stay the entire 12 hours.

At 7 p.m. the first ceremony will begin, followed by the survivor lap. Other activities planned throughout the night include team challenges, photo opportunities with the Twins and Wild mascots, a Velcro wall, themed laps and a prize drawing.

Overnight parking is available in lots A, X and Y. If parking in those lots becomes unavailable, find a spot in a red or yellow lot and notify Public Safety or a member of the Relay for Life Committee upon your arrival. If a participant or guest is leaving before 2 a.m., parking in any red or yellow lot is permitted.
