Do you need a little financial help for Christmas this year? Santa and the St. Thomas Employee Federal Credit Union can help.
The credit union will again be offering a Santa Special Loan for any amount up to $1,000, at a rate of 10 percent, for a term of one year. Biweekly payments for $1,000 will be approximately $40.50 per paycheck for 26 biweekly payments. This payment can vary by pennies depending on the number of days from disbursement of the loan until the first payment.
This loan is available to any member of the St. Thomas Employee Federal Credit Union who has a Beacon (Equifax credit score) of 600 or more (no exceptions).
Not sure of your credit score? The credit union will run a report for any member, with member’s permission.
The Santa Loan is a “special” and can be had in addition to a regular signature loan, which has a limit of $3,000. It also can be had in addition to a High Beacon Signature Special Loan, which is being offered to members with Beacon scores of 750 or higher.
The Santa Special Loan will be available from Monday, Nov. 28, until Friday, Dec. 23, but the credit union is accepting applications now. Application forms are available in the rack across from the credit union office, Room 209, Loras Hall, anytime that the building is open. Application forms also can be requested by phone, (651) 962-6660, or by email.
“Now might also be a good time to start planning ahead for Christmas 2012 by joining the credit union’s Christmas Club,” remarked Adrienne Sturm, credit union manager. “Save a little each paycheck, and during the first week of November in 2012 you will receive a Christmas check with all deposits from now until October 31, plus an annual dividend.”
