Students interested in pursuing careers in the sciences are invited to attend the Science Careers Expo Thursday, April 4. Numerous employers representing a variety of occupational fields will be on hand from noon to 1:30 p.m. in 3M Auditorium, Room 150, and the atrium area of Owens Science Hall.
Employers will present brief overviews of their organizations and describe the types of positions (volunteer, part-time, internship, full-time) for which they typically hire students and graduates. The panel will begin at noon.
The types of organizations represented at the expo:
- Medical devices and equipment
- Employment agency focusing on lab positions
- Laboratory technician and research
- Museum
Following the presentations (about 12:45 p.m.) each organization will have a table in the Owens Science Hall atrium area for individual Q-and-A time and to discuss available career paths within their organizations.
Résumés may be collected from potential candidates; however, this is not a job fair – but an opportunity to learn more about science career paths for first-year through senior students.
Event is sponsored by the Career Development Center and Neuroscience Club.
