The Campbell’s Let’s Can Hunger Challenge, sponsored by Campbell Soup Co., is a comprehensive hunger challenge raising awareness, translating awareness to action in the form of urgent hunger relief and empowering those in need to defeat the cycle of hunger. As part of this challenge UST’s SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) team is hoping to collect at least 5,000 pounds of food over the next few months. The food will be distributed to local food shelves.
The team has placed donation boxes in Rooms 128 and 316 and at the side entrance of McNeely Hall, in the Business Office in Aquinas Hall, and in the Academic Counseling office in O'Shaughnessy Educational Center. All nonperishable food collected through Tuesday, Dec. 20, will be delivered to Second Harvest Heartland.
Cash donations also are welcome. Checks can be made out to Second Harvest Heartland and can be given to Betsy Lofgren in Room 128, McNeely Hall.
"On behalf of the entire SIFE team, thank you for considering our request to help local families in need of food during this holiday season," remarked Lofgren, SIFE adviser. "Thank you, and happy holidays!"
