The University of St. Thomas/St. Catherine University School of Social Work will present a professional development salon, “The Transition of Youth with Disabilities from Foster Care,” from 3 to 5 p.m. today, Friday, April 29. The salon will be held in Room 409, Derham Hall, on the St. Catherine campus.
Dr. Katharine Hill will present the findings of her research related to the prevalence of older youth with disabilities in out-of-home placement, as well as their demographic make-up, and child welfare and educational experiences.
This salon will provide participants with increased awareness and understanding of the critical need for supports for older youth with disabilities in out-of-home placements and during their transitions to adulthood.
Pre-registration is requested by calling (651) 962-5800 or by emailing socialwork@stthomas.edu. Walk-ins also are welcome.
