Space … the final frontier ... is tamed by WebViewer

By Mike Cole, Facilities Scheduling, and Tom Oscanyan, Information Resources and Technologies – Acquisitions and Budgets

On Monday, Aug. 20, space and event requests at St. Thomas will undergo a dramatic change. Information about all events and space will be available via WebViewer, a Web-based interface.

Users will be able to see a universitywide events calendar, quickly retrieve information about availability of a location and request space.

WebViewer will replace the Facilities Scheduling RFS form. WebViewer offers greater flexibility for schedulers when planning events and more information for potential attendees. Readers will see a detailed description of an event, view contact information, and can even save event information as a calendar item in Outlook.

How will WebViewer tame the wild frontier of space issues on campus? To find out, attend an overview of WebViewer from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20, in Room 304, Murray-Herrick Campus Center.

Participants will be able to experiment with WebViewer while enjoying refreshments and learning about training opportunities.
