Father Dennis Dease, president emeritus of St. Thomas, has received the “Legacy of Leadership” award from the St. Paul Area Chamber of Commerce.
The chamber conferred the award, its highest honor, at its annual awards gala Thursday, Nov. 7, at the Landmark Center in St. Paul. The chamber cited Dease’s accomplishments in his 22 years as president of St. Thomas and the leadership values he exhibited throughout his tenure.
Dease is the second St. Thomas president so honored by the chamber. Monsignor Terrence Murphy, president from 1966 to 1991, received the award, then called the Great Living St. Paulite Award, in 1991.
