St. Thomas Christmas Concert now available on DVD
The Dec. 7, 2008, St. Thomas Christmas Concert was an outstanding success. Students and their faculty conductors gave an excellent performance bringing the joy of the Christmas season to life with choral and instrumental music. The audience was thrilled.
I know. I was there to hear their comments after the final bows had been taken.
If you missed the concert, don’t worry. The performance was taped and broadcast by Twin Cities Public Television and many other stations around the nation, from California to Washington, D.C. And now, the DVD is here and available for purchase with proceeds going to support the international tours of our music ensembles.
The DVD features not only the concert itself, but an introduction by Father Dennis Dease, president of the university, and commentary from students and faculty directly involved in the performance. If you prefer, the entire package is available for streaming from the Department of Music Web site.
Whether you purchase the DVD or stream the performance, don’t miss it. It is a performance worth hearing and seeing. Everyone involved in the concert did an outstanding job. My congratulations to them all.
