St. Thomas Employee Federal Credit Union will host an open house Monday, Oct. 17, from noon-3 p.m., at its office in Loras Hall, Room 209, on the south campus in St. Paul. Stop by for refreshments and register for a $25 share deposit.
Staff from the credit union will be on the Minneapolis campus Tuesday, Oct. 18, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on the second floor of Terrence Murphy Hall. Minneapolis campus credit union members also will be able to register for a $25 share deposit and enjoy refreshments.
Credit union staff will be available to assist members with questions regarding payroll deductions, car loan rates, as well as signature loans.
The credit union’s board recently adopted new car loan rates that are as low as 1.9 percent. All loans are based upon the member’s credit score. Car loans can now be financed for up to six years on new and newer used cars.
The high beacon signature loans recently have been raised to a new maximum of $8,000 for members who have a credit score of 700 and above. Rates of 6 and 8 percent will apply depending upon credit scores and terms can be up to six years.
The popular Santa loan once again will be available to all members starting Nov. 14. Members may borrow up to $1,200 for 12 months at 10 percent. A minimum credit score of 600 (no exceptions) is required to take out a Santa loan.
