Scott Torbik of Cogniti, a performance management software company, will speak at the Association for Strategic Planning Spring Breakfast Series on Tuesday, April 26. His topic is “New Capabilities Required for Today’s Planning and Operations Professionals.”
Torbik will discuss how dissatisfaction with traditional strategic planning and execution is on the rise. Organizations report that planning accuracy has diminished as economic conditions have become more turbulent.
This presentation focuses on research that highlights the shortcomings of traditional planning methods and toolsets, and explores a new set of requirements supportive of a flexible and dynamic planning capability.
Torbik specializes in enterprise performance management. He has more than 20 years of enterprise solution experience working with the Fortune 2000 providing advice, counsel and direct participation to strategic projects in the United States, Canada, Europe, Japan and India. He most recently was employed at Oracle USA, focusing on enterprise risk management and business intelligence.
Torbik’s disciplines of specialization also include risk management, supply chain management, ERP and financial applications. His work has encompassed strategy, business process improvement, risk and performance management, information technology, change management and education and training.
He received his B.B.A. degree from the Loyola University of Chicago and received certification from KELLOGG’s Merger Week. He resides in a suburb of Chicago with his wife and three children.
Registration begins at 7 a.m. followed by breakfast and networking. The presentation and discussion will be held from 7:45 to 9 a.m. in Room 202 in Opus Hall on the Minneapolis campus.
