Business Law Club Hosts 'Criminal Law: Students' Rights Night' Tomorrow

Two top Minnesota lawyers will speak at an open forum on “Criminal Law: Students’ Rights Night” on Tuesday, April 12. The event will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. in Room 126, John R. Roach Center for the Liberal Arts.

Anoka County prosecutor Blair Buccicone and criminal defense attorney Avery Appleman, a graduate of Syracuse University College of Law and founder of Appleman Law firm, will lead the discussion using a Q-and-A format.

The forum will be beneficial to all undergraduate students and of special interest to students who are newest to the college system. Questions students typically have about criminal law such as drug possession, underage drinking, social host laws, domestic abuse and police searches are among topics that may be discussed.

All questions are welcome; nothing is taboo. Questions will be submitted anonymously and asked by a BLAW club member to avoid the possibility of embarrassment.

This event is sponsored by the Business Law Club. Free food will be provided.
