Share Thanksgiving Dinner With International Students

Here is a new solution for Turkey Day leftovers: Add an extra chair or two for international students around the holiday table this year. A uniquely American celebration, Thanksgiving provides an opportunity for International Student Services to partner with the campus community to give international students a firsthand experience of the festivities.

There is no need to have a Martha Stewart-worthy turkey or all the trimmings; students will take part in the diverse experience of this American celebration and give thanks for the blessings in their lives. So whether you are cooking a tofurkey (tofu turkey), picking up a premade meal from Cub, coordinating a potluck, or serving a meal that may be featured on the Food Network, please volunteer to host an international student or two. Many international students are eager to participate.

To volunteer, fill out the brief host form online. ISS will contact volunteers on Friday, Nov. 9, to confirm their Thanksgiving guest(s). The application deadline is Monday, Nov. 5; Thanksgiving is Thursday, Nov. 22.
