The Singers to perform on campus Saturday

The Singers-Minnesota Choral Artists will be performing a concert, "Even Such is Time: A Pilgrimage Through Life," this Saturday, Oct. 13.

The concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the Chapel of St. Thomas Aquinas on the University of St. Thomas' St. Paul campus.

Conducted by founding artistic director and conductor, Matthew Culloton, The Singers' fourth season opens with music celebrating the cycle of life, from birth and childhood, marriage, love, family, and death. John Tavener's "Village Wedding" recalls the Greek marriage rite, and Herbert Howells' stunning "Requiem," written for his young son, is as poignant a setting as any written.

Carrying on the tradition of The Dale Warland Singers, and acclaimed by MinneapolisSt. Paul magazine and the StarTribune, which praised this group as "... a rock solid ensemble that sings with passion and technical mastery," this is the first performance of this 45-member ensemble on the UST campus, and the beginning of the 2007-08 season.

Tickets will be available at the door. General admission is $23; preferred seating is $25. Student tickets with an ID card are $10.

UST faculty, administration and staff and family tickets for the St. Thomas concert are $15 but must be reserved via e-mail through Dr. Bruce Gleason, The Singers board of directors' president and UST music faculty member.
