In the past, the third-level course in the Faith and Catholic Tradition core requirement was satisfied only by 300-level theology courses. In the fall, the Theology Department will begin the transition to a new type of requirement for the third course.
For incoming freshmen, the third-level requirement will be fulfilled only by 400-level theology courses. With the transition, however, current students have more flexibility in their course selection.
For current students the requirement now is:
- Theology 101
- One theology course at the 200 or 300 level. (The only prerequisite for 300-level theology courses from now on is Theo 101.)
- One additional theology course at the 300 level or one theology course at the 400 level. (The prerequisite for 400-level theology courses is Theo 101 and one course at the 200 or 300 level.)
For incoming freshmen the requirement will be:
- Theology 101
- One theology course at the 200 or 300 level.
- One theology course at the 400 level.
