Undergrads: Box Office to implement lottery for limited Vikings tickets

Due to the high interest in the Minnesota Vikings tickets, STAR and the Box Office have implemented a lottery drawing process for the tickets.

This system is designed to eliminate students' waiting in line or missing class. Every undergraduate student has a fair opportunity to purchase tickets regardless of class schedule.

Undergraduate students have the opportunity to enter a drawing for the right to purchase tickets for the Vikings games below. Lottery tickets will be distributed between 8 a.m. and noon Thursday, Sept. 17, in the St. Thomas Box Office in Murray-Herrick Campus Center.

Only 32 tickets will be sold for the Vikings home opener; the Vikings play the San Francisco 49ers at noon Sunday, Sept. 27.

Only 30 tickets will be sold for the Vikings vs. Green Bay Packers game, scheduled at 8:20 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5.

Reminders:

  • Please do not form lines at the Box Office. You may come to the Box Office anytime between 8 a.m. and noon to pick up a lottery ticket.
  • These tickets are only for current undergraduate students.
  • One lottery ticket will be given to each student. Each winning lottery ticket will permit a student to purchase one Vikings ticket.

The lottery drawing will take place at 12:15 p.m. Shortly thereafter, winning ticket numbers will be posted outside the Box Office and on the “University of St. Thomas Expeditions” fan page on Facebook. If your number has been drawn, proceed to the Box Office to purchase your ticket for the game of your choice, as game selection is available.

The student whose raffle ticket is drawn must be the same person who purchases the ticket and attends the game. IDs will be checked and students must ride the bus provided by STAR. Tickets will be distributed upon arrival at the Metrodome.

If you do have a winning lottery ticket, you must claim and purchase your Vikings ticket by 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17.
